Hi, my name is Ajitha (aka AJ). My design story began in 2017, when I got my first smartphone and laptop and started experimenting, tinkering, and learning everything I could about tech and design.
Before I even knew the term UX, I was already solving everyday problems around Chennai during my bachelor’s degree.
In 2021, I was formally introduced to user experience and human-centric design. Soon, I began to see design in every nook and corner of life. I have always believed being a designer means being a creator, and that humbles me, giving me a deep sense of duty to serve.
I align myself with people and planet centric projects. Late in 2022, I pivoted fully into a design career, starting as a consultant at Digisailor where I gained exposure to multiple agile teams and diverse problem spaces.
In 2023, winning the Best Motion Design Award at UX India opened doors to conversations with design leaders across the industry. This inspired me to take a bold step, pursuing my Master’s in Digital Experience Design from Hyper Island in Stockholm.
With over 3 years of experience in the tech industry, I specialize in research, web and mobile design, and B2B as well as consumer software. My collaborations span global markets, including LUAN Emotional Museum in Mexico, Bayad and GCash in the Philippines, and P8.io in Australia.
I’m also a writer on Medium, sharing insights on art, design, tech, and personal experiences. Volunteering for mental health and working towards world digital safety keeps me grounded in purpose. One of the side projects I am working on is the Internet Manifesto which reinforces digital safety for teenagers.
When I am not designing in Figma or mapping ideas in Miro, you will find me with my cats, lifting at the gym, or exploring art and culture wherever I go.
